The major calamity which has broken every aspect of this great nation's economy and has been of a state of emergency is CORRUPTION. Mr President's (Mohammed Buhari) major aim and target is the fight against corruption, which in every effort He is working hard to achieve. The question here is, can corruption be eradicated at the top when the grass root still remains corrupted?
That takes us straight to Lagos State Polytechnic where students are currently asking questions about the sum of one thousand Naira enforced on them to be paid into the First Bank account of an Insurance Company called Capital Express, for death and a permanent disabled body from an accident. According to sources, the following are the questions been asked.
"We are not so bothered about the fact that the school is placing us under an insurance scheme, but what we are bothered about is the fact that its been enforced on us. Secondly we paid a sum ao one thousand naira(#1000) to the bank in which the blue teller is taken down to the School Officer to be converted to a receipt, but to our surprise the receipt only shows that we paid a sum of five hundred naira(#500) to the bank, that we can't accept and we need an explanation for, and thirdly we are in the 2016/17 session but the reciept carries something else which is 2015/16 session and we need an actual explanation for that. We all know the situation of the country and its very frustrating and annoying mostly on getting ones hand on money at the moment. So for every money we want to spend we want to know we are spending it on a reliable and accountable source. We expect the SUG(students union government) to make the right move and give us a reliable explanation on this situations". All this lamented by the students.
A nation free of corruption begins with us the people. I hope the SUG clarifies the situation and at least explain the mix up on the receipts been issued for the students.
